Austin Healey 3000, BT7, Mark 1
This car was a 5 year
stalled project in a well known Jaguar restoration shop in New
England. The client called us and asked us to handle the removal
from the other shop and all aspects of transportation, appraisal and
completion of the restoration. The car was partially restored with
improper panel fit and welding. Shrouds were repaired and welded in
place totally out of alignment. All aspects of the prior shops work
was incorrect and poorly executed.
In order to finish the
restoration, we removed the floors, sills, and patches. We realigned
the frame and refit the floors, rockers, sills and all patches. We
cut the welds out of the aluminum shroud and repaired the shrouds
with perfect gaps for the trunk and hood lids. Engine was rebuilt,
line bored, balanced, performance tuned and well sorted. Client
was very surprised at the additional power, since we took the
liberty to built this motor to BJ8 specs. Car was finished to match
its original build sheet and Hertitage certificate. Total time for
restoration in our shop was five months.
