1973 Triumph TR-6

We dont only work on Austin Healey. Our roots in restoration started in 1973 working on MGB, Triumph and the odd American Muscle car.  About twenty percent of our work annually is on other makes such as Triumph, Jaguar, Ford and MG.

Here is a great reason to make sure everything regarding a restoration is in writing. This 1973 TR-6 was rescued out of a well known restoration shop in Northern New Jersey after the clients $50,000 ( Verbal quote ) complete restoration turned into a  $70,000+ wasted dollars and poor quality work.  The car was a complete basket case when picked up, requiring two of our trailers to bring all the parts to our shop.  All aspects of the restoration had been botched including, a improperly sandblasted body tub that was so warped that ever panel needed to be shrunk back into shape.  The hood and trunk lid were so warped that they were unusable.  The restorer had sandblasted the exterior only leaving the entire underside covered in thick coats of rust coating.  To hid the damage they had caused on the body a thick coating of Bondo had been applied over some of the worst damage on fenders, doors, and the hood.  Bondo had also been applied over rust holes.  The engine and transmission were supposedly completely rebuilt. The engine was missing numerous seals and leaked oil profusely. The transmission was not rebuilt properly with the use of old worn bushings and the worn out first gear. 

The client was thrilled to have the car restored to like new condition. All aspect of the car were perfect. As was the case with all of our cars, it was road tested and sorted out prior to its return to its owner.
